Do I need to bring a lawn chair?
We have plenty of seating under each tent. There is some space to accommodate lawn chairs outside of the tent and some folks do bring their own to soak up the sun while listening to great jazz music. If you want to a chair or two just in case, you may do so.
Is there reserved seating?
No. We do not have reserved seating. There is plenty of seating under each tent and it’s all general seating.
Do I have to purchase tickets ahead of time or can I get them at the festival?
No. You may get tickets at the festival’s ticket tent. However, if you would like to purchase weekend passes and want the best price, you should order your weekend passes before June 6, 2008 by downloading the order form from our site and mailing it in or calling 1-800-348-0003.
The cost for a weekend pass prior to June 6, 2008 is $75.00 (after that date, the cost is $90.00).
What type of food and beverage is available at the festival?
We have two vendors: one vendor sells hamburgers/hot dogs and various other items; the other sells ice cream –related fare. The festival offers soda, water and juice as well as coffee and popcorn.
What about alcohol?
We do not sell alcohol at the festival. You may, however, bring your own beer or wine; remember, no hard liquor is allowed onsite at the festival.
What if it’s raining?
The festival plays on rain or shine! The bands play under tents and there is ample seating under each tent as well. Just bring an umbrella and a raincoat – since you just never know. We still have a great time regardless of the whether!!
Also, if you plan on attending the evening sessions, you may want to bring a jacket or sweater. Sometimes it can get chilly at night. In our 15 years, we have experienced all kinds of whether for this event so we’ve learned to be prepared.
Is there a place for dancing?
Each tent has a dance floor and we encourage everyone to get up and “move”. There are usually a few experienced jazz dancers at the festival that can demonstrate a step or two.
What is the festival grounds like?
Our festival takes place at the Essex Steam Train on the back property. There are two tents within a short walk from each other and the vendors and amenities are right there as well. Keep in mind that it is mostly dirt/gravel area with little grass. You may want to consider comfortable shoes for walking around the site area. |
